Mr William King

[1940] Lance Corporal in the 24th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers
(City of London Regiment). He enlisted at Toot Hill and was serving as a
stretcher bearer when he was killed on 1 October 1918, aged 32.

He is buried in Flesquières Hill British Cemetery, France.

He was born in Stanford Rivers about 1887, the son of Abram and Matilda King,
of Clatterford End, Toot Hill.

In the 1911 Census, he was recorded as a cowman at Burrows Farm and was
living at Vine Cottage, Clatterford End.

He was awarded the Military Medal on 13 March 1918.
