[SPTS/4318] Private in the 23rd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers
(City of London Regiment). He enlisted at Romford. He was killed in action
on 27 July 1916. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the
Thiepval Memorial, France.
He was born in Ongar about 1896.
In the 1911 Census, he was recorded as living at 55 Toot Hill with his
parents, Stephen and Eleanor Crow, and two younger siblings. His occupation
was recorded as a farm labourer.
At the time of his death, his residence was recorded as Harold Wood.
