Ongar Millennium History Society

The Ongar Millennium History Society organises The Marian Slade Lecture annually. Next year Dr Mark Goldie, Churchill College, Cambridge, will be the guest lecturer and he will be speaking on John Locke in Essex.

John Locke lived in Otes in High Laver, where his stay has already been described in an earlier issue of this newsletter. His philosophy was one of the cornerstones of the Constitution of the United States. John Locke was buried in 1703 in All Saints, High Laver.

The lecture will take place at 8.00 pm on 17 March, 2006, in the Church Rooms, Castle Street, Chipping Ongar.

The admission charge will be announced nearer the lecture date. Your support for this lecture would be much appreciated.
