He has no known grave and is commemorated on the
Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium.
He was born about 1898 at Theydon Garnon, the son of Walter and Alice West,
of New Cottage, Brickfield, Theydon Mount.
He was employed by Mrs C. Hunter at Hill Hall, Theydon Mount.

Mr and Mrs Walter West, Theydon Mount, Epping, have received news that
their eldest son, Pt. S. T. West, Royal Fusiliers, was killed in action on
Oct. 11. The deceased, prior to his enlistment, was in the employ of
Mr C. E. Hunter, of Hill Hall, Epping.
