WEST ESSEX ASSOCIATION – For the Preservation of Game

Whereas divers unqualified persons have made a practice of coming upon the under-named Manors and Estates, viz.,

Nave stock
Copped Hall
Champions
Theydon Mount
Ongar Park Hall
Loughton
Lambourne
Theydon Garnon
Kelvedon
Gains Park Hall
Hennels
Fyfield
Stapleford Tawney

Roydon Hall
Roydon Temple
Great Parndon
Little Parndon
Harold's Park
Woodridden
Waltham Holy Cross
Nazeing
Worcesters
Durant and Garbons

And killing game there; and have also in those Manors and parishes fished the waters and rivers belonging thereto (being private property)without leave and carried away the fish; notice therefore is hereby given, that if any unqualified persons shall hereafter use any guns, greyhounds, setting-dogs, snares, or engines, to destroy the Game in either of those Manors or parishes, or fish in the waters belonging thereto, without leave form the respective Lords of the said Manors, or owners of the said estates, they will web prosecuted with the utmost severity of the law. And a reward of TWO GUINEAS is hereby offered (over and above what is given by Act of Parliament) to any person who shall give information to any of the Lords of the Manors, or their Gamekeepers, of any Game being unlawfully killed by any offender; which reward will be paid on conviction by applying to Mr. John Jessop, at Waltham Abbey, Essex, Secretary to the said Association.
