A Students Guide to Colchester

Colchester has a rich history, being described as the oldest recorded Roman Town in Britain. Andrew Smith, our Secretary, has been doing a ‘Certificate in Local History’ course at the University of Essex. His illustrated talk will explore how archaeological digs during the twentieth century have developed and given new meaning to the town’s history.
