Charles John (Jack) Penson [12941]

Charles John Penson

[12941] Private in the 4th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment.
He enlisted at Hertford. He died of pneumonia on 25 August 1918 and is buried
in Étaples Military Cemetery, France.

He was born circa 1895 in Stanford Rivers, the son of James and Mary Penson.

At the time of the 1911 Census, the family were living at
6 Castle Street, Ongar. Charles was employed as a butcher’s boy.

Another brother, Albert, was listed as a
“Soldier – Corporal”.
