[26851] Private in the 14th (Service) Battalion,
Royal Hampshire Regiment. He enlisted at Warley.
He was killed on the Somme on 20 October 1916. He has no known grave and is
commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
He was born about 1889 at High Ongar, the son of Thomas William and
Jane Elizabeth Thorogood, of Clatterford End, Toot Hill.
The 1911 Census records his occupation as a farm labourer.
