Queen’s Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). He enlisted at Woolwich.
He was killed in action on 12 December 1914.
He has no known grave and is commemorated on the
Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.
He was born about 1884 in High Ongar, the son of William and Sarah Argent.
At the time of his death, he was living in Woolwich, Kent.
In the 1911 Census, he was recorded as living at The Gardens, Blake Hall,
Bobbingworth. He was married to Alice and had a daughter, Violet, aged 2.
His occupation was recorded as an under-gardener.
His name also appears on the High Ongar War Memorial.
