Stanford Rivers by H. M. Scott – The Scott Family
The Scott Family
Harold Montague Scott (1906–)
Harold Montague Scott was born in London on 15th January 1906. He was a descendant of one of the earliest settlers in the then Colony of Australia.
He spent 31 years in business as a Paper Merchant and Publisher but was forced into semi-retirement by ill-health in 1965. He then purchased the incorporeal Manorships of Stanford Rivers, Traceys and Bellhouse, and devoted eight years to researching and piecing together the story of the Manors.
This work was carried out in order to leave his descendants – and posterity – a fairly concise, although maybe not complete, record of his ancient Titles.
Although the extant records are not completely reliable, it can be reckoned that he is the 57th holder of the Lordships.
He married Joan Rosemary and they had two children: a son, Anthony David, and a daughter, Alix Marilyn.
